About
What is The Daily BidCo?
The Daily BidCo explains merger and acquisition deals. You know, the actual ones happening right now, not textbook examples. In easy-to-understand, plain English. No waffle, no assuming you already know what a "scheme of arrangement" is. If a term needs explaining, we explain it.
Why it exists
Commercial awareness is one of those things every law and finance student is told they need, and one of the hardest things to actually build. Most of what's out there is either too technical to follow without a finance background, or too vague to be useful in an interview. The Daily BidCo exists to close that gap. Real deals, broken down properly, published often enough that reading it becomes a habit and not a chore.
It's written by a law student at Oxford, along with a small team of student contributors who write for real bylines.
What you'll find here
Each issue covers a real, recent deal: who's involved, how it's structured, who financed it, why it matters and, increasingly, what it actually means for everyday people, not just the industry: job impacts, price changes, the wider ripple effects.
A quick note
Nothing on this site is legal or financial advice. It's education, written to help you understand deals, not instructions on how to do one. For how any of this applies to a specific situation, talk to an actual professional.
